Jag fotograferade av en bild, men nu kan jag inte komma ihåg vem bilden föreställer is an attempt to examine memory as a construction and photography's influence and effect as an object of remembrance. When no one is left to remember, what and how do we remember? The book takes its start in conversations with an elderly relative who had started to lose both sight and memory. In an attempt to clarify the relative's background, they went through the relative's family photos in an effort to remember what no one remembers.
The image series is based on a single recurring photograph taken with a paper negative in a large format camera. The image represents a photographed photograph where the motif appears as a white box due to overexposure. This makes it both impossible to know exactly what the photographed image represents, but also allows and urges for different interpretations of it. This recurring image is combined with various descriptive texts of the motif, taken from the conversations between the relative and the artist.
